A Behind The Scenes Look At Designing Cloud II
Throughout the entire year of 2022 there was so much work that went on behind the scenes at Vitality that is setting up 2023 for Vitality's biggest year of evolution ever. From undergoing a massive rebrand to countless hours upgrading our supply chain and manufacturers, we have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to level up our brand in every way. I am so excited to say that hard work has finally paid off and 2023 is going to be the year you see everything come to fruition. Not to be dramatic but…it’s going to be the best. year. yet. To start the 2023 off strong, we are launching our BRAND NEW fabric that will completely transform the athleisure space….CLOUD II!!! * (we are also dropping new and improved Daydream sets that you can read more about here)* The original Cloud fabric has been our most popular and best selling fabric here at Vitality, so it was a HUGE risk making adjustments to it. But today, as I sit here typing this and wearing our brand new product, I am more confident than ever that this was the right move. The changes will leave you speechless in the best of ways. When we started this brand four years ago, my sister and I had our DREAM fabric in mind. This dream fabric of ours, has not been easy to create or source. Not only is this new fabric softer and stretchier than ever, but we also have added sweat wicking and anti-microbial technology (so it doesn’t stink post workout and also dries really quick), all while being majority recycled material. There is nothing on the market like Cloud II and I cannot waitttt for you to feel what the hype is all about!
Today, I want to give you an exclusive behind the scenes look into what it takes to create this product as well as give you my review of all the need to know details for every piece so you feel fully prepared to shop the launch on 1/19 @ 10AM MT!! So…let’s get into it!!
Before I get into my review of all of the pieces launching, I thought I would show you a bit of the process in creating this product. We put our hearts and souls into every single piece we come out with, and although it takes a ton more time and effort, we never take the easy way out. Every piece means something to us so I thought it would be cool to share a bit of behind the scenes!
The very first step to creating a perfect product comes from my sister’s brain, Chief of Design, Chloe. She has an incredible eye for hot trends before the trends even hit (she will be talking more about what 2023 holds during our February campaign so stay tuned). Once the collection as a whole is conceptualized, the next step is fabric and sampling. While sampling the actual fit and construction of the product (we do many samples for every single piece we create because we are perfectionists), creating and sourcing the perfect fabric is simultaneously happening. Above you can see a video of our one-of-a-kind Cloud II fabric being rolled out and trimmed, and ready to be shipped over to the factory to get everything cut and sewn. The crazy part about this fabric is that it is made from RECYCLED materials. I truly never thought recycled clothing could feel so soft and high quality. We are beyond excited to be leveling up our effort to be a more sustainable brand in this way.
After the fabric is made, it is then cut and sewn into the actual products (i.e. pants, shorts, bras and tanks)! One thing you will notice with these new Cloud II pieces is that the overall construction has been improved, so seams will be cleaner, fit will be more consistent and the product will last longer. As the pieces are cut and sewn, our bottoms are all graded with our new grading system which means that as sizes go up length is added to the inseam as well as the waistband and as sizes go down, that length is reduced. This creates a pant/short that is truly a perfect fit for everyBODY.
Once the products have all been constructed,our QA (quality assurance) team goes in and starts their extensive testing. These reports are pages and pages long once they are complete, to make sure they pass all QA tests to ensure all products are up to our standards. Through every single step there is an extreme amount of care and attention put in to be sure you all are receiving the best products possible.
