New Home Inspo

We are getting SO close to finally moving into our new home!! This has been a 2.5 year process, so as you can imagine we are more than ready! I am also 35 weeks pregnant and I would love to be settled in before baby boy arrives so keep your fingers crossed for me!

When it came to designing and building our home there were so many decisions to be made and there were so many options for every little detail that I really didn’t know where to begin. What shape do I want the doors? Do I paint them white? Do I stain them? Where do I want the kitchen sink and what color do I want it to be? What color do I want the cabinets to be and what kind of hardware do I want on them? The list goes on and on and endless decisions needed to be made. It was definitely overwhelming at times, so I went to Pinterest (my very favorite place) to get inspo on what I wanted to overall look of the house to be.

Today I thought it would be fun to share some of the inspiration I took from Pinterest that I wanted to try to incorporate in the house. I have been saving home inspo for a while now and it’s funny how much your taste can change in just a short amount of time when you are forced to really think about what you want in your home. When we started I thought I really wanted white and gray marble, super modern, and sort of that "glam" style, but when it came time to make decisions, I realized I like neutral tan tones with a ton of different styles incorporated instead! In a later blog post I will share with you what we did and what these concepts ended up looking like in my actual home!

I would say the overall style I went with for this house is sort of a classic style that incorporates modern mediterranean design. I wanted to keep every space super clean and minimal while still adding fun touches with lighting, furniture, etc. I feel like life can be so chaotic, so I wanted our home to be a super peaceful place for us to spend time in. Okay let’s get into the inspo!!

I really love the way the pendants line the hallway as you look down the hall.

Arches seemed to have had my heart during this build! I feel like the curved edges help to soften up the space and bring a more organic feel. I really love the look of this arched iron door. So freaking beautiful!

Iron railings that are in a classic design makes my heart so happy! I love the straight classic lines of both the railing and the stair treads (those are the flat part of the steps). The wood tone is also SO pretty to me in this inspo photo!

This over grouted stone fireplace brings me joy. I LOVE this look! I think it is such a classic vibe and makes it feel like you’re in an Italian villa. Plus nothing is cozier than a fireplace!!

I could have done every single room in this hand made tile it is THAT beautiful! I love the organic look of it and all of the gorgeous colors available.

The way this range hood is the same stone as the counters and backsplash is so so pretty! I love the seamless look of it. We tried doing this and making the range hood the same material as the counter, but they kept telling us it was too heavy….so stay tuned to see what we ended up doing instead!

Did I mention I have an obsession for arched doors lol?! These doors are already installed in the new house and let me say…I think it may be my very favorite part of the house.

The inspiration is truly endless. These are just a few of my favorite inspo pics that have inspired my design choices for the new home.
Do I have an arch or two?? Of course lol! I can’t wait to show you!

XOXO, TAY
