Nursery Essentials
I am now 35 weeks pregnant which means baby will be here so so soon!! This pregnancy has flown by and Steve and I are just so excited to meet our sweet boy. As you know from my last blog post, we are getting close to closing on our new home and so we will be getting the Nursery set up asap! My mom is helping me to design and decorate that space so that it is ready to go when baby arrives. Today I thought I would share with you what all I have ordered, and then in a later blog post I will do a full nursery reveal! Alright, let’s get into the fun stuff!!!
Sheep Crib Bedding - You guys! This bedding is so so so cute and insanely soft. We went to the store to see it in person and it is just as cute in person as I thought it would be! It is muslin fabric, so it will get softer the more I wash it. I can’t wait to get this on the crib!
Crib Mattress - We chose this mattress because it is washable but more importantly because it is completely breathable. This means it allows baby to breathe through the mattress, reducing the risk of suffocation. Steve even pressed his face into it and tested it out lol!
Nursing Pillow - I hear this will be such a must have when nursing and that it is also good for tummy time!
Wipes Warmer - To keep baby boy comfy I got this wipes warmer for changing diapers.
Play Gym - I can’t wait to see baby boy play with this. It also turns into a little play tent as they get a little older. So cute!!
Diaper Pail - What I love about this is that it encapsulates one dirty diaper at a time to minimize the stink. The pail is made of steel for easy disinfecting and there are no special bags needed! I know we will be changing alotttttt of dirty diapers, so this will be key to keeping the room nice and fresh!
Pacifier Sanitizer - Kills 99% of germs and bacteria and will give me peace of mind knowing baby boy is healthy!
Humidifier - The parts are dishwasher safe for sanitization, it is mold-prohibiting and has no mist! And you can add your favorite essential oils like lavendar to relax baby at bedtime. Winters in Colorado are insanely dry, so I know this will be helpful for keeping baby boy’s skin hydrated.
Baby Skin Care - I chose this because it has 5-star reviews, is hypoallergenic, was created by pediatricians and is certified organic!
Thermometer - So simple to use. All you do is place it in the baby’s ear and it gives accurate readings in seconds and it’s supposedly more accurate than forehead scanners.
Bassinet- I am so excited for this! The side goes down and the bassinet locks in place beside my bed so I will be able to easily take baby boy out for nighttime feedings. Plus I can take it anywhere in the house and it has mesh walls for easy breathability. I’ve heard so many great reviews for this bassinet but I will keep you all updated on if we like it!
Baby Monitor - I can’t believe there is this much technology in these baby monitors/cameras now! Sleep tracking, night vision, ambient light monitor, it monitors breathing, two-way microphone, it gauges the room temp and it hangs right above the crib so you can get a good view from any point. I can track all of this from my phone so we can have peace of mind knowing baby is sleeping safe and sound.
Organic Burp Cloths - I have plenty on hand for all the messes to come lol.
Portable Sound Machine - I’m hoping this will help baby boy stay asleep even when the dogs bark. It will also be so helpful to bring with us when we travel!
Rocker and Ottoman - Since I am going to be up late at night for feedings I wanted to be as comfortable as possible. My mom had a comfy rocker and ottoman when she had us, and she said it was such a must!
Baby Bath - This will grow with baby boy and adjust to take him safely from newborn to 6 months!
Hamper - I think this is so cute!
Changing Basket - This is going to be so stinking cute on the dresser. I just got a dresser instead of a full changing table so that when baby boy is a little bigger and the changing mat comes off we can have a regular dresser in his room.
Diapers and Wipes - ON SUBSCRIPTION!! These will be delivered to my door once a month so I don’t even have to remember to get new ones. I love that they are eco-friendly and made with fragrance-free materials.
After researching so many baby items, this list is all of my favorite things that I found! I hope this helps you decide on awesome baby things for yourself or to gift to a friend. We are so excited to meet baby boy and I am praying that we can get into the new house before he is born. But if not, at least we are as prepared as we can be for his arrival!
Until next time…
