What’s In My Hospital Bag…

I cannot believe my due date is almost here…time is flying by, but we are so excited to finally meet baby boy. We have been slowly collecting baby items over the past few months and just keeping them all in boxes under our bed, but we finally took some time to sort through everything, get organized and pack our hospital bag so we feel as prepared as we possibly can for the day he arrives.

I am a first time mom, so this is a brand new experience for me! However, I did extensive research prior to making my list to determine which items seemed mot important to bring along and which items I could do without. I will be sure to do a follow up blog after baby arrives to let you guys know what ended up being most useful! Below I have listed out every item I packed in my bag and linked them so you can easily find what you need for your bag!

For YOU

Portable Fan Having a portable fan can help to feel more comfortable during the labor process!

Towel/Washcloth I know that they provide towels for you at the hospital, but there is nothing like having your own soft towel and washcloth from home that nobody else has used before.

Headphones I love my AirPod Pros for the noise cancelling aspect. I can just disappear into my own head and focus on what I need to do. Perfect for labor and also watching whatever show on my laptop or iPad during the night.

Maternity Leggings These are my favorite! I will be leaving the hospital in these and a cozy sweatshirt.

Extra Long Charger I don’t know where I will be able to plug in when I am in the hospital room so I will want to be sure that my charging cord is extra long to reach my bedside.

Water Bottle Having my own water bottle will be a life saver!

Non-slip Socks You are required by the hospital to have grippy socks. I know they provide those as well, but I want to be as comfortable as I can in my own things.

Nursing Pillow/Pillow Cover I’m planning to breastfeed and this is so important for my comfort and the baby’s. It will also be so helpful in different ways as he gets a little bigger.

Nursing Cover This item is super cool because it actually has 8 different uses including covering the shopping cart and high chair as baby gets older. Not just for nursing!

Maternity Joggers These have been the most asked for link during my pregnancy and they really are the best joggers for when you’re pregnant. Im sure I will be wearing them a tonnn postpartum as well.

Preggie Planner This has been such an amazing part of my pregnancy journey. It has helped me keep everything organized and keep track of all of the special pregnancy moments.

Blanket I got one of these for Steve and I for our time in the hospital. They are so much cozier than I would expect the hospital blankets to be lol.

Bluetooth Speaker I am going to make a playlist for the hospital to help keep the room calm during labor.

Slippers Comfort >>>> anything has been my pregnancy mantra and I’m sticking with it for labor lol.

Frida Post-Partum Pack Everything I need for Post-partum recovery including a Frida Peri Bottle for cleansing.

Camera/Memory Card This is my all-time favorite camera to capture everything on! I want to be able to capture these special moments to be able to cherish them forever!

Dry Shampoo/Brush/Silky Ponytail Holders I know I won’t have much time to get myself together during our stay at the hospital, so these are my simple go to items! The silk hair ties are a game changer and help so so much with preventing breakage!!

Hand Sanitizer This is one of my fave brands!

Nursing Pads I love that these are washable and don’t produce waste.

Post-Partum Belly Band This helps with back pain and instability from labor and helps you strengthen the core muscles.

Aquaphor Good for boobs, lips, belly and everything in between.

Nursing Bra The reviews on this bra were unreal so I’m giving it a shot!

Flip Flops I am going to need these for the shower and bathroom for sure.

Hospital Gown So much cuter than the ones the hospital provides lol.

Sour Candy This has been my lifesaver for nausea during pregnancy and it will be such a nice treat to have at the hospital.

For BABY

Swaddle/Hat I love, love the option to personalize this little swaddle and hat combo. Great for photos! (P.S. Baby boy’s name is not Luca haha)

Mittens These are so important to keep little fingers from scratching baby’s delicate skin.

Socks These are so so cute and kind to the Earth. I can’t believe he is going to be this tiny!!

Burp Cloths These are made from muslin and will get softer the more and more I wash them.

Changing Mat Perfectly soft and washable.

Pacifier Wipes I will plan on using these for bottles, pacifiers, etc and I know they will help me feel confident in keeping baby boy healthy.

Pacifier Sanitizer This will be another great thing to have to keep baby boy healthy and keep our pacifiers clean!

Outfits You will obviously want some clothes for baby! I’m bringing a couple of outfits from Atlas grey. They are soooo stinking soft and I love the neutral colors!

There is so much information out there so I hope this helps narrow things down for you to determine what you need for your own hospital bag and feel more confident about your labor/delivery experience!!
